Laundry tags
Textile laundry tags
Short answer
1.0Construction
How this family is built
A textile laundry tag carries a UHF inlay, which is a chip joined to an antenna, inside a flat and flexible textile body. The body lets the tag sit in a seam or a hem the way a care label does, and it bends with the fabric. The records for this family state a textile body and a thickness of 1.5 mm. They do not describe the layers inside the body, any coating or the inlay itself, so this page makes no claim about them.
Fabric and water sit close to a UHF antenna and change how it behaves. That is why a read distance stated for a laundry tag says nothing about a wet load or a packed cart until you have measured one. The records name no surface for the textile distances, so treat them as a supplier's figure for the tag under stated reader power, and check them on dry and on wet items of your own.
2.0Choosing
Choose this family, or look elsewhere
Choose this family for
- Flat linen and workwear with a seam or hem that can take a 1.5 mm thick tag between 58 and 75 mm long. The range record lists sizes from 35 mm.
- Reads at a portal or a tunnel. The supplier states up to 5.5 m with a fixed reader (2 W ERP) and 2 m handheld for every textile model, against 0.4 m and 0.1 m for the hard button discs. All four figures are supplier-stated.
- Items that are heat sealed. The 70 x 15 mm heat-seal model and the range record list heat-seal settings and a pouch or hem fixing as well as thread.
Look elsewhere when
- No model in this family states a silicone body or an IP rating. If you need either, this catalog does not cover it.
- Wash life is stated as 200 cycles or 24 months from shipment, whichever comes first, and it is supplier-stated. Confirm it with a wash trial on your own items and your own process.
- The same 5.5 m is stated for every size, so the figure cannot tell one size from another. Test each size on your own items before you compare sizes.
Selection rules
- Attachment decides the model. Thread only: LTX-58x15-S, LTX-70x15-S and LTX-70x17-S. Thread, pouch or hem and heat seal: LTX-70x15-SH and the range record LTX-MULTI-SH. Thread and cable tie: LTX-75x15-SC.
- If you need user memory, read the memory row of each model. The two Monza R6-P models list 32 bit of user memory, and the UCODE 7m models list EPC memory only.
- Size follows the room in the seam or hem. Models are 58, 70 or 75 mm long, and the range record lists other sizes. Ask the team about a size that is not listed.
- Frequency variant follows the region where the tags are read. Most models list a US band (902 to 928 MHz) and an EU band (865 to 868 MHz). LTX-58x15-S lists one wide band of 845 to 950 MHz instead.

How to read the distances in this table
Every distance is the supplier's upper figure, stated under the conditions in the last column, and TagBrio has not tested it. All the models state their leading distance on the same footing, so the figures may be compared with each other. A read on your own part with your own reader is the only reliable check.

Questions about this family
Answers quoted from the records
How big are textile laundry tags?
The 6 models range from 58 x 15 mm (LTX-58x15-S) to 70 x 17 mm (LTX-70x17-S) in footprint, and from 1.5 mm in height. The model page of each gives its full size.
How far can textile laundry tags be read?
6 of the 6 models state a distance under one footing (ERP 2 W, surface not stated), from 5.5 m. All figures are supplier-stated and TagBrio has not tested them. A read on your own surface with your own reader is the only reliable check, and the request page offers a test kit.
How are textile laundry tags attached?
Across the family the records list sewn with thread, pouch or hem, heat seal and cable tie. The methods differ by model, so check the mounting row of the model you choose.
What temperatures do textile laundry tags state?
The supplier states storage ranges within -40 to +85 °C across the models; individual models differ. Both are supplier-stated, and a storage range is not an operating range.
Does the catalog include silicone laundry tags?
No. The laundry catalog lists textile-bodied tags and hard button tags. None of the 6 textile records lists a silicone body or an IP rating.
